Among them, more than 18,000 workers have been able to get assurances from Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim about sending them to the country. Yunus. In addition to this, the government is in some trouble with Italian visa candidates. Because, the government has to handle the applications of visa applicants that have been pending for a long time in the Italian embassy in Dhaka.
Currently, more than 40,000 work-related visa applications are under consideration at the Italian Embassy in Dhaka. Visa applicants at embassies are urging the government to resolve their issues. As part of that, the Foreign Affairs Advisor of the Interim Government held a meeting with the delegation of Italian visa candidates on Tuesday.

The embassy will return the passports after deciding on 20,000 visa applications within the next two months. The embassy currently has more than 40,000 work-related visa applications under consideration.
The fate of 18,000 workers is opening: More than 18,000 workers could not go to Malaysia despite getting visas during the previous Awami League government. These workers who could not go to Malaysia have almost given up hope. Having lost everything, they are now sitting on the road. For quite some time, they have repeatedly called on the government to go to Malaysia. After two months of Hasina's downfall, good news came for them from Malaysia. And that is from the mouth of the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim during his recent visit to Dhaka assured that about 18 thousand workers who could not go within the stipulated time will get a chance to go to the country. And Dr. got this assurance. At the request of Yunus.
Middle Eastern workers to get VIP status: The interim government has taken the initiative to set up a special lounge at the Dhaka airport for Middle Eastern workers. Special lounges for Middle Eastern travelers are expected to open at the airport from this month. On October 5, Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment Adviser Asif Nazrul said that a separate special lounge will be arranged at the airport for the labor brothers and sisters who are going to the Middle East. We have already fixed the place, talked to Civil Aviation. Hopefully it will be done in two weeks.
The advisor said, the suffering of expatriate labor brothers and sisters will be eased in the lounge hall. Apart from this, there will be other VIP facilities as well. From the moment they enter the airport to boarding the plane, they will have a person at every level to assist them in the lounge.
In a press conference on September 24, Expatriate Welfare Adviser Asif Nazrul said that those who have returned home after being sentenced abroad in solidarity with the student movement, we will arrange for their rehabilitation on behalf of the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare. So far we have been able to list 87 people who have returned. We will arrange employment for them in Bangladesh.
He also said that there is a Pravasi Kalyan scheme, there is a bank, there is a Wage Earners Welfare Board, there is BMET. In short, we will arrange their employment or business ventures through our ministry. If necessary, there is a private sector, with whom I will contact.
Cancellation of the approval of the ministry to reduce the suffering of expatriates: The interim government wants to get out of the approval process of the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment for expatriate workers to reduce the long queue. For that, expatriates only need to take approval from the concerned country's embassy and Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training (BMET).
In this context, advisor Asif Nazrul said that if expatriates want to go abroad, approval is required at three levels. One concerns the embassy, then the ministry and BMET. From now on the ministry will not play any role. Approval must be taken at two places.
Various initiatives to increase remittances: The Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment has taken various initiatives to increase the flow of remittances. In this case, there are things like sending direct remittance to Pravasi Kalyan Bank and increasing the booth of the bank and taking new initiative of credit system from Pravasi Kalyan Bank.
In this context, advisor Asif Nazrul said that remittances can now be sent directly to Pravasi Kalyan Bank. Those who have taken loan from this bank can pay the loan by sending direct remittance. We have made an agreement with the private City Bank for this work. As a result, they can bring remittance to Pravasi Kalyan Bank and repay the loan.
The advisor said, apart from Pravasi Kalyan Bank, we have discussed with 12 other banks. We have told them that expatriates who need loans, give them. They agreed, but would need a credit guarantee. If this is available, these 12 banks will be able to give loans to expatriates.
The advisor said expatriates send remittances through money exchange. We have spoken to those 12 commercial banks. The money they give to the money exchange houses will be paid by that bank in this country. That is, the money that has to be paid abroad to send remittance will be paid to that bank in this country.
Asif Nazrul said, now the maximum limit for buying wage earners bonds is one crore taka. We have proposed to cancel it. It will require the assistance of Bangladesh Bank. Hopefully, Bangladesh Bank will do it. By doing this there will be no purchase limit, more remittances can be sent through bonds.
Regarding increasing the booth of Pravasi Kalyan Bank, Asif Nazrul said that the main branch of Pravasi Kalyan Bank has to come from far and wide. For this, we are taking initiative to set up booths of Pravasi Kalyan Bank in all the branches where Sonali and Agrani Bank are present.
Asif Nazrul said that the expatriate workers suffered various hardships while abroad. There are many complaints against our embassies for not performing their duties properly. Even though we have a labor welfare wing, we get complaints that they are not working properly. We tried very hard to see that. We print the form and send it to the Labor Welfare Wing at the Embassy. From now on we have to regularly report how many complaints they have received, complainant name, address, mobile number and action taken on the complaint.
The advisor said, we will check directly from Dhaka on a daily basis whether the work is being done properly or not. If someone in our expatriate welfare wing is not performing properly, if not working in the role of servant, we will make changes there if necessary. We will not make any concessions.
