Jumbangla Desk: Former Chairman of Savar Upazila Parishad and General Secretary of Upazila Awami League Manjurul Alam Rajiv's alleged brother-in-law Zakir Hossain alias Mama Zakir, the head of Mama Force, has been arrested. Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB) arrested him from the capital on Saturday. There are seven murder cases against him.

DB North Joint Commissioner Rabiul Haque Bhuiyan said that Zakir is the accused in the case filed in Savar police station. So he will be handed over to Dhaka District Police.

According to the Savar Model Police Station sources, several murder cases including several attempted murder cases were filed in the Savar Model Police Station in connection with the attack on students during the July-August movement against Zakir. Since then he went into hiding. Apart from this, Zakir has been accused of defrauding the name of Manjrul Alam Rajeev by extortion, extortion and various irregularities including Awami League, Jubo League, Chhatra League, Volunteer League, nomination trade in various elections, tender trade and other irregularities.

Sources also said that Zakir was the main source of Rajeev's money. He controlled everything from family to politics. But Zakir is not Rajeev's own sister's son; Son of a distant relative. He was brought up in Rajiv's house since childhood. Zakir's house is in Yarpur in Ashulia.
