British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has said that no one should mourn the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in an Israeli operation. On October 16, the Hamas leader embraced death fighting against Israeli forces in Gaza.

Sinwar is believed to be the mastermind behind the unprecedented Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. In retaliation for this attack, Israel launched a devastating attack on Gaza that day, which started the Gaza War. Israel has been hunting Sinwar for the past one year.
In a speech in Berlin, Starmer said, 'No one should mourn the death of Hamas leader Sinwar. The leader of this group had the blood of Israelis as well as the blood of the Palestinian people who suffered from the chaos and violence he sought and celebrated'.
Hamas has lost its top leader for the second time in less than three months. Earlier in July, the former head of the group, Ismail Haniya, was killed in a secret attack in Tehran. The attack was also planned by Israel.
Iran is Hamas's strongest ally. The country has been supporting Hamas with money and weapons. The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom reiterated to continue to work together with Israel to counter the threat.
Starmer added: 'The UK and allies will work together across the region, because we know there is no military solution'.
