At the workshop, adviser Farida Akhtar called for the proper use of the natural and marine resources of the country and said, 'The country will become economically more prosperous as a result of the proper use of the natural and marine resources, the country will no longer be poor.

He also said, 'Currently there is a 22-day ban on catching hilsa, and the government is trying to ensure that the fishermen do not suffer during this time and that they do not have to go hungry. This help will be increased further.'
Livestock adviser said, 'Even if we have marine scientists, we are not able to use them.
Those who catch fish should also be given dignity. They are also scientists as one. On behalf of the government, I will request the agencies not to stop the work of this project in any way. Ecofish-2 project needs to do more to protect hilsa fish and biodiversity in coastal rivers.
Dr. in the research report raised in the workshop. Mohammad Mukarram Hussain said that this project has empowered women through various income-generating activities as well as ensuring their participation in various economic activities.
Increased participation of women in economic activities. 222 women in various areas developed saving habits through Income and Nutrition groups. The main objective of which was that women can contribute to their family's economy. As a result, women's participation in economic activities has increased from 71 percent to 100 percent. At the same time, women's personal savings increased to 8.70 million taka (73 thousand 758 US dollars).

It was informed in the workshop that this project works to preserve the biodiversity of the coast and sea as well as to improve the quality of life of the marginal fishermen families in the coastal areas. More than 72 thousand people from 15 thousand fishermen families in the marine protected area have benefited from this project. Over 15,000 fishermen from 429 fisheries conservation groups have been trained in the last 5 years, empowering fishermen as well as making them responsible for coastal resources. Through this project, 236 endangered species of marine animals including dolphins and turtles have been successfully released alive. 140 local youth have been trained as voluntary Blue Guards.
