Ron Elie's death was confirmed on social media Wednesday by his daughter, Christine Casale Elie. However, it was confirmed by the family about a month after the death of the actor.

According to the BBC, Kirsten Castle Ely, Ron Ely's daughter, wrote in an Instagram post, 'The world has lost one of the greatest men ever and I have lost my father.'

Ron Ely became best known for playing the role of 'Tarzan' in the sixties television show. Tarzan originally aired on the NBC television network from 1966 to 1968.


Reportedly, Ron Ely suffered several broken bones during this time and was attacked by animals while performing his own stunts. After retiring from acting in 2001, Eli began writing and published two mystery novels.
Ron Ely starred in other popular television programs in the 1980s, including the cruise ship-based comedy 'The Love Boat' and 'Wonder Woman' starring Linda Carter.

Ron Ely was born in Texas in 1938. He married his school sweetheart in 1959 but divorced two years later. The actor has three children in his personal life. She presented the Miss America pageant in the early 1980s.
