More than 150 trains canceled due to cyclone Dana

According to the media, cyclone Dana may hit Odisha-West Bengal coast on Thursday night. And for this cyclone, more than 150 trains have been canceled on Thursday and Friday in Sealdah division of Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal.

According to the Eastern Railway of India, 160 trains are being canceled from 8 pm on Thursday to 10 am the next day.


Eastern Railway said in a statement on Tuesday that the cyclone is likely to hit Odisha and West Bengal coast on 24th. A warning has been issued by the Meteorological Department about the cyclone wings. It has been said that there will be heavy rain in the coastal areas and gusty winds of 120 kmph. And as a precaution, 160 local trains are being canceled in Sealdah Division. Most of these are in the southern branch of Sealdah. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of the passengers.

According to the Indian Railways, these trains have been canceled on Sealdah South Branch from 8 pm on Thursday to 10 am the next day. Train movement from south to Sealdah station will be closed from 7 pm on October 24 to 10 am on October 25.

Again, the movement of trains on the Sealdah Hasnabad branch will be closed from 8 pm on October 24 to 10 am on October 25.

Apart from this, passengers have been requested by Indian Railways to fix their travel schedule by looking at the train schedule. It has been informed that this decision has been taken for the safety of the passengers.

Apart from this, several steps have been taken by the West Bengal state government to deal with cyclone Dana. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said control rooms have been opened at the state and district levels.

Apart from this, due to cyclone 'Dana', schools have been closed for 4 consecutive days in West Bengal. A warning has been issued across the southern part of the state.
