Saudi Arabia gave good news to Bangladeshis about the recruitment of workers

Jumbangla Desk: Saudi Arabia's ambassador to Bangladesh Isha Yousef Isha Al-Duhailan has expressed his interest in implementing green initiatives of the Saudi Arabian government and employing skilled and trained workers in mega projects under the country's Vision 2023.

On Sunday (October 27), Foreign Secretary Md. The Saudi ambassador expressed his interest in a courtesy meeting with Jasim Uddin.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the Foreign Secretary shared with the Ambassador some recent developments in the country besides the initiatives taken by the interim government and the reform agenda. The ambassador told the foreign secretary that the Saudi embassy is issuing a large number of visas every day, adding to the 300,000 workers already deployed in Saudi Arabia.

The foreign secretary appreciated Saudi Arabia's role in reducing regional tensions and promoting stability. Appreciating the leadership role of the Islamic Ummah, he reiterated Bangladesh's unwavering support to Saudi Arabia in achieving regional stability. He expressed Bangladesh's solidarity with the Palestinian issue and called for urgent steps for a two-state solution.


The Ambassador expressed his gratitude by recalling Bangladesh's steadfast support to Saudi Arabia in various international forums including the upcoming 2034 Football World Cup and IORA.

During the meeting, the Ambassador apprised the Foreign Secretary about several pending Saudi initiatives, including the establishment of an iconic mosque and an Arabic language institute in Dhaka, and sought cooperation to expedite them. The Ambassador briefed the Secretary on current Saudi investment initiatives in the port supply and renewable and power sectors.

Both sides stressed the need for continued engagement between the governments of the two countries on political consultations and the high-level Joint Economic Commission (JEC) as well as the Joint Technical Committee (JTC) on Manpower.
