International Desk: US Embassy Public Engagement Director Scott Hartman said that the number of Bangladeshi students seeking higher education in the United States is increasing, which currently includes Bangladesh among the top 13 countries in terms of sending students.
He said this on Monday (October 28) at a fair organized by the US Embassy through the official Education USA platform and in collaboration with EdPrograms.
According to the latest statistics, the number of Bangladeshi students has increased more than three and a half times in the last decade. The number of Bangladeshi students in the United States was 3,828 in 2012-2013, which has increased to 13,563 in 2022-2023.
Bangladeshi students are leaving a lasting impact on US campuses, said US Embassy Public Engagement Director Scott Hartman while inaugurating a college fair at the EMK Center in the capital's Gulshan. Bangladeshi students on US campuses are actively participating in leadership, sports, performing arts, hackathons, and debates, preparing them for future success.
Whether innovating in research or building cultural connections, Bangladeshi students are leaving a lasting impact on U.S. campuses, Hartman said.
Organized through the official Education USA platform of the US Embassy and in collaboration with EdPrograms, more than 500 people from different parts of Dhaka participated.
