Morning-evening road blockade is going on in Khagrachari on the call of United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) to protest the killing of three workers of the organization.

Due to the blockade, traffic between Khagrachari and Dhaka-Chittagong and Rangamati long distance has been stopped since Thursday morning. However, easybikes and motorcycles are plying within the city. Apart from this, the movement of passenger vehicles with 9 upazilas is very less.
In support of the blockade, picketers burnt tires on the Ramgarh section of the Khagrachari-Dhaka regional highway. Besides, the besiegers have left tree stumps on Dighinala-Babuchara road. Traffic is stopped in it. However, no untoward incidents were reported anywhere
Khagrachari Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Baten Mridha said that additional police personnel have been deployed to ensure that no one can create a chaotic situation around the blockade. We are on patrol. Police have been deployed at important junctions in the city.
Incidentally, yesterday, three workers named Sijon Chakma, Joyen Chakma and Shiran Tripura were killed in double firing in Shuknachhari area of Latiban Union of Panchhari in Khagrachhari. In protest, UPDF called for a blockade this morning and evening.
