Rescuers fear to recover more bodies. Thousands of Spanish military personnel, along with regional and local emergency services personnel, participated in the rescue operation to deal with the disaster. The region of Valencia suffered the most damage from the floods. At least 92 people died there.

The raging tide caused massive damage across the area, with cars crashing into each other, trees uprooted, power lines snapped and household items stuck on the ground.

"Our priority is to find the bodies and the missing," said Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez. In order to ease the suffering of their families.

The Met Office has issued a red warning for parts of the Valencia region and Catalonia's Tarragona region, and an orange warning for southwestern Cadiz.
