Jumbangla Desk: Ethiopian Airlines, Africa's top airline and a member of Star Alliance, will launch direct flights on the Dhaka-Addis Ababa route from November 3. The airline will operate five flights a week. As a result, travelers from Bangladesh will have the opportunity to travel to more than 155 destinations worldwide including all major cities in Africa, Europe, North America and beyond.

Ethiopia will launch the inaugural flight of the state-of-the-art Boeing Dreamliner 787-9 from November 3. The flight will arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 8:30 am and return to Addis Ababa at 9:40 am the same day.
Regular flights on this route will depart from Dhaka on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Besides, additional flights will leave Dhaka every Monday and Friday morning.
Ethiopian Airlines Group Chief Commercial Officer Lemma Yadecha and Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority Chairman Air Vice Marshal Md. Manzoor Kabir Bhuiyan will attend the opening ceremony.

Sohag Hossain, managing director of Rhythm Group, general sales agent of Ethiopian Airlines in Bangladesh , said, 'It is not just a flight operation. This will create an opportunity to bring Bangladesh and the world closer together.'

Sohag Hossain said that this new route will provide convenient connectivity for expatriate Bangladeshis and will create an opportunity to reach affordable fares.
He said Ethiopian Airlines is the largest airline network in Africa. The airline will operate the service on this route with modern Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
Sohag also said that as the demand increases, Ethiopian Airlines also plans to increase the number of daily flights. The new Dhaka route will expand the airline's large network. This includes more than 63 destinations in Africa and around 155 destinations worldwide.
