There is no such thing as free will of the brain

waking up

Let's say you wake up and think, take the mobile phone in your hand or think, how about drinking coffee instead of tea today! When we are not consciously making these daily decisions, it can seem like we are making decisions on our own accord.

But after knowing this, that idea may prove to be completely wrong. Because the decisions or daily actions that we seem to make consciously, are all predetermined.

That is, what is thought of as free will is actually a big mistake! That's what new research says.

Philosophers have debated the idea of free will for thousands of years. Neuroscientists have recently joined the debate. They say, nothing happens because of your own will.

Recent research suggests that our brain decides what to do at least half a second before we do anything. If you press the remote to turn on the TV, 5 seconds before doing that, the brain has decided what to do with you!

Then it may seem that the will of our mind can not control our brain? Consciousness or what is thought of as free will is really a lie! Everything is already controlling our head!

Researchers have come to the conclusion after various experiments that many processes in the brain happen automatically and without our consciousness. They say that the brain begins the process of making a conscious decision long before a person realizes it. A report on this has been published in 'Nature Neuroscience'.

Consciousness is the only thing that makes the difference between man and machine.

A group of scientists led by John-Dylan Haynes of the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences in Leipzig, Germany, conducted a study and found evidence that the subconscious mind overrides the conscious state when making a decision.

Using fMRI scans, the researchers found that study participants were able to make predictions seven seconds before making a conscious decision.

Robert Sapolsky, a neurobiologist at Stanford University, said in a press release, "Unfortunately, humans do not have free will." After many experiments on human behavior he came to the conclusion that neurochemical influences determine human behavior.

By observing micropatterns of brain activity with brain mapping, researchers have been able to predict what participants intend to do long in advance.
