Jumbangla Desk: Two private MPO teachers hugged the education adviser's feet while crying! Their demand- notification with the opportunity of transfer to the vacant post. The photo of this incident which happened in the Secretariat on Thursday (October 31) evening has been spread on Facebook.
It is learned that a group of indexed teachers working in private educational institutions belonging to the MPO of the country went to meet Education Adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud with the demand of transfer against the vacant posts. At one point, two teachers fell at the feet of the education advisor and started crying. During this time, the education advisor tried to pick up those two teachers - this picture was spread on Facebook.
The teachers holding the legs of the education adviser are General Secretary Mo Sakibul Islam and Shariful Islam, coordinator of Rajshahi district of an organization called 'Badili Ganabijnapti Tytyashi Oikya Parishad', an organization called 'Indexed teachers recommended by NTRCA'.
Mo Sakibul Islam's house is in Rajshahi. He works in an organization in Chandpur. On Saturday evening, he said, 'I could not hold my emotions. I didn't do it on purpose. I did it because of emotion. Because my grandmother mother in law died on last 7th but I could not go there. Because, I am working in Chandpur. I received the death news at 8 am and the burial took place at 2:30 pm. It was not possible for me to go to Rajshahi during that period.'
He said, even if my relatives die, I cannot visit them. There are countless teachers like me whose lives are miserable.
Describing the time of hugging the adviser's leg, Mo Sakibul Islam said, "When I did that, the adviser said, 'Get up, father, I have done your work, your work is done.'"
He said that after the incident, the education advisor sent the teachers with his personal assistant to discuss the details. Officials there assured the teachers that their work would be done quickly.
It is known that in the second and third public notification, many registered teachers have applied from one area of the country to another and received recommendations as there are no vacancies in their area. Due to the temporary suspension of paragraph number 7 of the circular of 2015, the opportunity to apply for the index holders in the fourth and fifth public notices is also closed. Millions of indexed teachers are suffering due to this. Since then, the teachers have held various programs including human chain to demand transfer, but their problem has not been resolved. A few days ago, the Ministry of Education published the notification of mutual transfer in the face of teachers' demands. In the meantime, the application for mutual transfer of teachers has started which will continue till December 15. But teachers feel that even 1% of teachers will not benefit from this.
The teachers who are expected to be transferred said that it is very difficult to leave their families and perform duties hundreds of kilometers away with low salary. Especially the lives of female teachers are becoming miserable as they leave their families. The family is on the verge of breaking up. Not being able to maintain the husband and family, not being able to keep the golden deer called job.
Solaiman Mohammad, a teacher expected to be transferred, said, 'My home is in Sreepur Upazila of Gazipur. In the third public notice, I got a job in Bhuyapur Upazila of Tangail. I can't get a job a hundred kilometers away from home on a low salary. When my child calls before the start of the class room and says, "Dad, where are you?" Then I can't concentrate in class at all. If I was at home, I could kiss my child's forehead and go to school. I don't have father, mother is sick but I can't take her to hospital on time. However, if we are transferred to our own upazila, the government will not spend a single rupee extra. We teachers should also concentrate our efforts to make the future generation worthy citizens of the country. Yet for an invisible reason we are not being transferred.'
Meanwhile, some other teachers said that for the past few days, it has been heard that Education Adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud has consented to the transfer against the vacant post - he even gave his approval. But not getting notified. Due to this, millions of teachers who are expected to be transferred are passing their days in anxiety.
Md. Sarwar, president of the ``recommended teachers who are seeking transfer of the indexed teachers recommended by NTRCA'', Md. Sarwar, said, "We only work for a salary of Tk 12,500. We have to go through inhuman hardships while working in far-off places for so little money.
He said, 'It is a transfer without budget. There is no government financial involvement here. The ministry accepted our demand. But not giving notifications. We want to allow quick transfer by notification.'
