Jumbangla Desk: The Information and Broadcasting Adviser of the Interim Government has announced the committee to convert Ganobhaban into 'July Uprising Memorial Museum' and announced the names of its members. Nahid Islam.

The committee was announced at a press briefing at the Ganabhavan gate on Saturday (November 2).

Other members of the committee are author and human rights activist Mustain Billah; Zahid Sabuj, art department teacher at Jagannath University; Dr. National University Anthropology teacher. Nurul Momen Bhuiyan; Tanzim Wahab, photographer, teacher and Director of Research and Publications at Shilpakala Academy; Writer and researcher Sahul Ahmed Munna; Architect Marina Tabassum; Director General of Bangladesh National Museum; Director General, Directorate of Archives and Libraries; Director General, Directorate of Archaeology; Chief Architect of the Department of Architecture; Chief Engineer of Public Works Department; Additional Chief Architect of the Directorate of Architecture. Asifur Rahman Bhuiyan; President of Institute of Architects Bangladesh or appropriate representative; Lead Architect Bayezid Mahbub Khandkar of Nakshabid Architects and Architect Tanjim Hasan Salim of Design Works Group. Apart from this, one or two student representatives will be included in the committee, said Nahid Islam.


After announcing the committee, the information advisor said, the memorials of oppression that have been created in Bangladesh in the last 16 years will be preserved in the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum. Apart from this, the memorials of the students' victory will also be preserved in this museum.

A replica of the 'mirror' is also being considered at the museum. The museum will be established as a field of research as well as preservation of memorabilia.'

Nahid hopes that people will hold this museum as a souvenir of the students' victory.

In the last 16 years, this Ganobhaban has become a place of suffering for the people of Bangladesh. Again, there is a memorial of the people's victory in this Ganabhaban. The symbols of people's victory against fascism will also be preserved in this museum.'
