Sports Desk: Time is not on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's side. India is now the team that has lost the most Tests in the country since 2023. But this team was unbeaten at home for the past 12 years and 18 series. But the series against New Zealand has shown that India's fortress has cracked in a big way. In the meantime, the news has come out, the Indian Cricket Board has discussed the fate of Rohit -Kohli.

The future of some senior cricketers of the Indian team will be decided only after the tour of Australia. In the coming days, at least in the Test format, the door of the national team may be firmly closed for Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli. BCCI wants to look into the situation after being whitewashed by New Zealand. With that in mind, they can walk the path of gradually removing the seniors before the next Test World Cup.

India's influential media Press Trust of India (PTI) has brought out some such information. As claimed, the tour of Australia could be the last chance for Rohit, Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja to sustain themselves in the Test format. Everyone is at the very end of their international career. If there is a bad result, anger can fall on them.

Chief selector Ajit Agarkar, coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Rohit Sharma may hold a general discussion with the board officials in the next couple of days. But there is unlikely to be a very important decision.

A board source told PTI, 'New Zealand series results will be discussed. A general discussion before the team leaves for Australia on November 10. There is no doubt that this loss is a big blow. But the Australia series is ahead. The team has also been announced. There is no possibility of change.'

He also said, 'If India do not make it to the final of the World Test Championship, rest assured that four senior cricketers will not board the plane for the next tour of England. Maybe those four people played the last test on the soil of the country.

Note that after the World Test final, India will play a five-Test series in England, which will start the next World Test Championship cycle.

According to the top officials of the board, the board does not want to repeat the incident of 2011. Even then, the team made up of veteran cricketers suddenly started doing badly. Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman retired on that basis in 2012. Sachin quit the game the following year. So Agarkar and Gambhir spoke to the four senior cricketers of the team and asked about their plans.

India's next generation is pretty much ready even if the four are gone. Sai Sudarshan, Devdutta Parikkalara can enter the Test team in the middle order. Washington Sundar is thought to replace Ravi Ashwin for the next 10 years. Akshar Patel is the big hope to replace Jadeja. And Ruturaj Gaikwad will be ready for the opening position left by Rohit.

This whitewash is difficult to digest: Rohit
