It is believed that this is the reason why Indian citizens have more support for oranges. The Hindu priests of the Telangana state of South India are performing prayers and rituals one after another for the victory of Kamala in the November 5 elections.

Organized by the Shyamala Gopalan Educational Foundation, the 11-day event aims to pray for Harris' success in the elections. The foundation was established to honor Harris' mother, Dr. Shyamala Gopalan.

"We seek the divine blessings of Rajshyamala Devi for the victory of Kamala Harris for the presidency," said Nalla Suresh Reddy, founder and chairman of the foundation.

This year's election in the United States is expected to be a close fight. Polls show Harris and his Republican rival, Donald Trump, are close in approval ratings.
