Jumbangla Desk: Today, November 7 is the historical revolution and solidarity day. On this day in 1975, the historical revolution of sepoys in the politics of Bangladesh took place. The course of the country's politics had changed.

Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was killed in his family on August 15, 1975. After that Major General Ziaur Rahman was given the responsibility of army chief. However, Zia was put under house arrest in a military coup on November 3 led by Khaled Musharraf, one of the sector commanders of the liberation war. Then on August 7, he was freed in a counter-coup and moved to the center of power. Launched the journey of multi-party democracy. As a result, relief returned to the minds of the people. Since then, November 7 is celebrated as 'National Revolution and Solidarity Day'. During the BNP government, this day was a public holiday.

BNP could not celebrate the day during the last 16 years of Awami League. This time the party has announced a 10-day program to celebrate the day with due dignity.

On the occasion of the day, a discussion meeting was held in the capital on November 6. At 11 o'clock today, BNP will pay tribute and recite Fateha at the grave of martyred President Ziaur Rahman in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar of the capital. BNP is preparing to hold the best rally in history in the capital on Friday.

On November 6, Khaled Musharraf went to Bangabhaban and announced the arrest of the then President Khandaker Mushtaq Ahmed and the dissolution of the Cabinet and the dissolution of the National Assembly. On the same day, he installed Chief Justice Abu Sadat Mohammad Sayem as the country's president. At one stage, on the late night of November 6, the general sepoys of the army united and formed resistance. People from all walks of life took to the streets in spontaneous support of that coup.

In a statement on the occasion of the day, BNP Acting Chairman Tarek Rahman said, 'November 7 is a historic and unforgettable day in national life. On this day in 1975, strong in patriotism, the sepoys came down on the streets with an unprecedented pledge to protect national independence and revive the lost democracy. Therefore, the historical revolution of November 7 is very significant. It is very important at this moment to unite all nationalist forces in the spirit of November 7 to unblock the path of democracy and protect national independence and sovereignty.'

Meanwhile, in a separate statement, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, 'On this great day, I call upon all the people of the country - the final transition of the country's democratic system has not yet taken place. Free and fair elections, civil liberties and democratic spirit should be developed in every sector of the state. After August 5, the countrymen breathed a sigh of relief, but there is still a lot of work to be done. National and international conspiracies have not stopped yet. Kuchakri mahal is always active to promote the country called Bangladesh. Therefore, with the spirit in which we united on November 7, 1975 to protect freedom and sovereignty, we must work together to ensure multi-party democracy, the benefits of freedom, economic freedom, peace and order, equality, justice and human dignity. will be.'
