Jumbangla Desk: A massive clash took place in Chittagong based on a post about Hindutva organization ISKCON on social media Facebook. The first protest took place in the Hazari Goli area of Chittagong city, then a clash took place when the members of the joint forces tried to stop the protestors. 6 policemen were injured in the attack of the protestors.
The protest by a group of Hindus started on Tuesday (November 5) afternoon. After that, around 8:30 pm, the police and army personnel were attacked.
At one stage of the conflict, miscreants threw acid on the joint forces. A policeman was injured. The name of those policemen injured in acid throwing is Faiz. Besides, five others were injured by brick-stones. At present, the members of law and order forces are on alert in the area.
According to police and local sources, a shop owner named Osman Gani shared a photo card on his Facebook profile a few days ago. He has his shop at Mia Shopping Center in Hazari Gali. The photocard contained lewd comments about ISKCON. After sharing it, some miscreants vandalized his shop and tried to attack the businessman.
Chittagong Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (Crime) Raich Uddin said, 'A businessman named Osman Gani of Hazari Gali shared a Facebook post. The post is related to ISKCON. About which some people were offended. When an attempt was made to attack the businessman, the police went and tried to deter the attackers. At one point the police clashed with those who attempted to attack. 6 of our policemen were injured in their attack. One of them has acid attack. Five people received first aid.'
