According to RAB, a case has recently been registered after 11 years in the case of Jamaat-e-Islami activist Abdus Salam's murder in Jhenaidah. He is the accused in that case.

He was arrested in a raid in Savar, Dhaka on Thursday night.

RAB's Legal and Media Wing director Lt. Col. Munim Ferdous confirmed this.


He said that the former MP of Jhenaidah-2 Constituency Tahjeeb Alam Siddiqui Sami was arrested tonight from Nabi Nagar area of ​​Savar in the case of Jhenaidah Sadar police station on charges of murder, vandalism and arson.

Meanwhile, a case was registered on August 27 after 11 years in the killing of Jamaat-e-Islami activist Abdus Salam in Jhenaidah. In the case, 270 people of Awami League including former member of parliament and district president of Awami League Shafiqul Islam, former member of parliament Tahjib Alam Siddiqui have been made accused.

Abu Bakar Siddique, the father-in-law of the deceased and a former officer of Krishi Bank, filed the case as the plaintiff.

Tahjeeb Alam Sami was elected as Member of Parliament as an independent candidate in 2014 from Jhenaidah-2 Constituency (Sadar Part and Harinakundu Upazila). Later, he was elected as a member of parliament as a candidate for boat in the nomination of Awami League in 2018. His father Noore Alam Siddiqui was Central President of Chhatra League and Independent Member of Parliament.
