Two youths were killed when a motorcycle was hit by a train in Rashidnagar area of Ramu upazila in Cox's Bazar. They were killed by a train going from Chittagong to Cox's Bazar around 3 pm on Thursday.

The deceased are - Kahatiapara area Md. Hochan's son Wahid and Abdu Majid's son Mohammad Hossain.
Eyewitnesses said that the deceased Wahid and Mohammad Hossain were returning home on a motorcycle after buying essential items from Eidgaon market. While crossing the railway line in Machuakhali area, their motorcycle fell under the train. They were killed by the train.
Residents complain that there is no rail gate or watchman in charge at Machuakhali railway crossing. As a result, local people are constantly facing risks.
According to locals including local UP members, such accidents could have been avoided if safety measures were in place at the railway crossing.
Eyewitness Jasim said that no warning signal or bell was sounded when the train crossed the crossing. Due to this, they were crossing the railway line in a more unconscious state.
