The incident took place in front of Manikganj Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Thursday (November 7) evening. After getting information, the army came and brought the situation under control and the police took Meem to the prison van and sent him to jail.

Police arrested Monirul Islam Meem, son of Juba Dal leader Golam Rafi Apu of North Seota area of ​​Manikganj district town, from Vendabari area under Pirganj police station of Rangpur district. Monirul Islam Meem is the Joint General Secretary of Manikganj Govt Devendra College of banned organization Chhatra League.

It can be seen in the court premises, hearing the news of Meem being taken to the court, the leaders and activists of the student movement started gathering in the court area. The police came to the scene in three pickup vans to deal with the situation. Although the students were persuaded for some time, they did not back down. After some time in the evening, Mim was tried to be taken to the prison van with a police helmet on his head and a police jacket on his chest under adequate police guard.


The students started throwing eggs at Meem. At one point the students started beating. The police failed to take Meem to the prison van and took him back to the court cell. After receiving information, the army came and controlled the situation, and the police took him to the prison van and sent him to jail.

When asked about this, Omar Farooq of the anti-discrimination student movement said that the leaders and activists of different units of the Awami League attacked and beat up the activists who participated in the anti-discrimination student movement. Because of which the students got angry and pelted him with eggs and beat him up.

In this regard, Sadar police station OC SM Aman Ullah said that the leader of Chhatra League, a banned organization in the student movement, has been sent to jail with the help of the army and the situation in the court area is also normal.
