The patients admitted to the hospital said that they all ate grill and bread at New Paradise Hotel and Restaurant in the city on Tuesday (November 5) and Wednesday at different times. Some of them eat with family and some with friends. After eating this food they fell ill. 22 people were admitted to Upazila Health Complex on Wednesday and Thursday. Among those admitted, 6-7 went home after treatment but 14-15 are still admitted.

 

Apart from Upazila Health Complex, another 17-18 people were admitted and treated at other clinics in the city. Among them, seven people from one family are sick.


Hospitalized Rahmatullah said that seven members of his family fell ill after eating the grill and bread from Hotel Paradise. Then they were admitted to the hospital. They have been hospitalized for two days.

Hospitalized Zahirul Islam and Kamal Howladar said that five friends fell ill after eating grill and bread from Hotel Paradise. Later, the family admitted to the hospital.

Upazila Health Complex Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Dr. Afsana Naima said, several patients have come to the hospital after eating from a certain hotel. Some of them went home after treatment. And 14-15 people are hospitalized. They are sick due to food poisoning.

In this regard, the owner of New Paradise Hotel and Restaurant Khorshed Alam said, it is a conspiracy. Opponents are doing this and spreading it.

Upazila Sanitary Inspector Vasudev Kumar Biswas said that hotel owner Khorshed Alam was called to the Upazila Health Complex on Thursday (November 7) and expressed his regret.

He said that various samples have been collected from the hotel to take legal action in this incident.

Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Afia Sharmin said legal action will be taken against the hotel if complaints are received from patients.
