A case has been filed in the name of 92 people including Arani UP Chairman Rafiqul Islam of Bagha Upazila of Rajshahi for burning the office of BNP. Arani Union BNP president Sajder Rahman filed this case as plaintiff on Thursday (November 7) night.
Sajdar Rahman is the son of late Habibur Rahman of Panchpara village of Arani Union.
According to the affidavit of the case, 17 years ago, the semi-furnished BNP office was built in Jhena Bazar. No activist sat in that office for a long time. But after the student movement, BNP and other organizations are using this office. Last Saturday (November 2) night, the office of BNP was set on fire in Jhena Railgate Bazar of 3 Wards of Arani Union.
Akkach Ali, president of Jhina Ward BNP number 3 of Arani Union, said that after the movement of students and people, I have tried to stay together with the people of all parties including Awami League-BNP in my area. But some over enthusiastic Awami League are trying to exert influence in various ways. Overzealous Awami League leaders and activists have committed such acts in the dark of night to create unrest in the area.
92 people have been accused in the case. Among these, Arani UP chairman Rafiqul Islam was made the main accused. Also 50-60 unidentified persons have been made accused.
Bagha police station OC Abu Siddique said that a case has been filed in this regard. Efforts are on to arrest the accused.
