US wants to expand cooperation with India in space technology. Because it has to do with the militarization of the ultimate frontier to deny adversaries like China. Major General Brian W. Gibson, head of strategy at the US Space Command, said this while meeting with top military and space agency officials in Delhi.
Gibson compared Beijing's space program to a red flag, saying, "China is moving at a breathtaking pace in the military use of space technology."
He added, 'Conflict in space is not inevitable... as in all other domains. But we want to deter our enemies. One way is not to go alone... we go together, we fight together. And that is my purpose. To expand our relationship, cooperate where we can and where we have interests.'
With that, he said, 'I hope this bilateral dialogue between the two space enterprises and the two militaries will increase trust. Because interoperability is important in space.'
General Gibson also said that the reality of today's world is that the United States and India face most of the challenges the two countries face together from 'potential adversaries like China'. That's why partnerships will become critical to countering collective threats. Because, their progress is breathtaking.'
