Jumbangla Desk: RAB has arrested former member of parliament (MP) Tahjeeb Alam Siddiqui Sami of Jhenaidah-2 constituency. He was arrested from Nabinagar area of Dhaka on Thursday night.

RAB's Legal and Media Wing Director Lt. Col. Munim Ferdous confirmed the arrest.
He said that the former MP of Jhenaidah-2 Constituency Tahjeeb Alam Siddiqui Sami was arrested tonight from Nabi Nagar area of Savar in the case of Jhenaidah Sadar police station on charges of murder, vandalism and arson.
Meanwhile, a case was registered on August 27 after 11 years in the killing of Jamaat-e-Islami activist Abdus Salam in Jhenaidah. 270 people of Awami League including former member of parliament and district president of Awami League Shafiqul Islam, former member of parliament Tahjib Alam Siddiqui have been accused in the case.
Abu Bakar Siddique, the father-in-law of the deceased and a former officer of Krishi Bank, filed the case as the plaintiff.

Tahjeeb Alam Sami was elected as Member of Parliament as an independent candidate in 2014 from Jhenaidah-2 Constituency (Sadar Partikal and Harinakundu Upazila). Later, in 2018, he was elected as a member of parliament as a candidate for boat in the nomination of Awami League. His father Noore Alam Siddiqui was Central President of Chhatra League and Independent Member of Parliament.
