It can be an effective way to stay focused, especially while working in the office or studying. However, social media apps that are required for professional work should not turn off notifications. For example, if WhatsApp is being used for file sharing in someone's office, notifications of social media apps other than WhatsApp can be turned off.

Now tap on 'App Settings' or 'App Notification' option, the list of apps will be shown on the screen. Now you have to 'toggle off' next to the apps for which you want to stop notifications. Well, no more notifications from these apps will come on your phone screen. Similarly, when you want to turn on notifications, you have to toggle 'On' next to the app.
