Jumbangla Desk: A fire has occurred in the godown of a garment factory in Savar. The factory owner claimed that there was a loss of around 30 lakh rupees in this incident.
The incident took place on the third floor of a building of Islamia Dental and Ophthalmology Hospital in Majidpur area adjacent to Savar bus stand on Dhaka-Aricha highway on Tuesday (November 12) at 12 o'clock in the godown of Shamim Enterprises.
The matter was confirmed by the senior station officer of Savar Fire Service, Nurul Islam.
It is known that ready-made clothes were purchased and stored in the godown of the factory. Shamim, the owner of the godown, fell ill after seeing the fire. He is now in hospital. About 30 lakh rupees has been damaged .
According to the fire service, two units of the fire service tried to control the fire at the spot after receiving information about the fire in the building at around 12 o'clock in the night. The fire service brought the fire under control in about 30 minutes. Initially, it is believed that the fire may have started due to electrical short circuit. However, the extent of damage will be known subject to investigation.
In this regard, the senior station officer of Savar Fire Service Nurul Islam said that after receiving the information, the fire service quickly reached the spot and brought the fire under control. The damage will be investigated and reported.
