Religion Desk: The animal world is one of the most diverse creations of Allah. There are so many types of animals in the world that amaze people every moment. Recognizing the animal world as a separate nation, the Qur'an says, 'All the animals that roam the earth and all the birds that fly with two wings, they are all one nation like you.' (Surah An'am, verse 38)

Humans are extremely interested in the animal world. Many people are now subduing all the terrible animals. Dogs are at the top of the list of hobby pets. Islam has different guidelines regarding dogs. Keeping dogs without necessity is discouraged in Islam.

Rasulullah SAW. Said, 'Whoever keeps a dog - except for the purpose of hunting or guarding cattle or guarding crops - two kirats of that person's good is reduced daily.' (Muslim, Hadith: 1575; Tirmidhi, Hadith: 1487)

Another hadith says, 'One kirat is equal to Uhud mountain.' (Musnad Ahmad, Hadith: 4650)

Dogs are called godly animals. A dog is loyal to its owner. His reputation of this quality is all over the world. Many people are afraid of dogs. Disturbed by the call of the dog. Many people have trouble sleeping especially at night when dogs call. Many are scared.

This dua can be recited without panic if you hear a dog barking at night—

I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the accursed.

Pronunciation: A'UZU BILLAH or A'UZU BILLAH-HI MINAS SHAYTWA-NIR RAJIM.

Meaning: I seek refuge in Allah. (Tirmidhi, Hadith: 5103)

It is narrated about this dua,

Hannad ibn al-Sarri narrated to us, on the authority of Abdah, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Ishaq, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Ibrahim, on the authority of Ata ibn Yasar, on the authority of Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: If you hear the barking of dogs and the braying of donkeys at night, then seek refuge in Allah, for they see what you do not see.

Hazrat Jabir ibn Abdullah RA. As stated in the source. He said, The Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, "If you hear a dog barking at night, say 'Auzubillah'." Because what they (dogs and donkeys) see you do not see. (Abu Dawud, Hadith: 5105; Ahmad, Hadith: 14283)
