On Monday, the accused were brought to the tribunal in a prison van around 10 am under tight security. Later, the tribunal ordered to arrest them and send them to jail.

The defendants are former Law Minister Anisul Haque, Farooq Khan, Dr. Dipu Moni, Rashed Khan Menon, Hasanul Haque Inu, Junaid Ahmed Palak, former Prime Minister's Advisor Salman F Rahman, Tawfiq-e-Ilahi, Shajahan Khan, former State Minister Kamal Ahmed Majumder, Golam Dastgir Gazi, retired Appellate Division Judge Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik and former Home Secretary Jahangir Alam. Abdur Razzak was not produced in the tribunal today as he is on remand in another case.

Many of the accused were seen smiling as they were taken from the tribunal to jail. But in the meantime Hasanul Haque Inu waved his hand at the journalists and said, 'Everyone laughs and rejoices. Inoue was not seen to speak any more than that.'


Meanwhile, former Minister of State for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak was seen praying with folded hands. At this time, the former state minister asked for prayers by pointing his hand at the journalists.

Earlier on October 27, the International Criminal Tribunal ordered the production of 20 people, including two former advisors, 10 former ministers, an army officer and a former secretary, a judge, who were imprisoned in the July-August genocide case. Of these, 14 were asked to appear on November 18.
