Mirza Fakhrul
Mirza Fakhrul said, 'Many people are hopeful. I'm a little disappointed. We had hoped that the Chief Adviser, with all his wisdom, would identify the problems and give an outline of the election.'
He said these things at a discussion meeting organized by BNP on the occasion of the 48th death anniversary of Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani at the National Press Club on Monday.
Regarding the chief adviser's speech, Mirza Fakhrul said, 'Why are we repeatedly talking about elections, because if elections are held, the problem will be solved. Whether BNP comes to power or not is not a big deal. But those who are trying to do harm today will be forced to retreat.'
Regarding reforms, he said, 'We don't just want reforms. We have started reforms. Reforms we will certainly want and reforms we will do. Please proceed in a way that is beautiful, acceptable to all. We have not created any obstacles for you yet. On the contrary, I am supporting you.'
Commenting that the friends of dictatorship are sitting in the secretariat, this BNP leader said to the government, 'How will you work? Who will you reform with? They will not let you reform.'
Regarding governance system, Mirza Fakhrul said, 'We need to focus on that. Run the country in such a way that the people of the country get relief and peace. There is no cause for relief. There is no reason for peace in the way the commodity prices have increased. Even the people of the country are accepting it. They expect you to give them something nice. Make it visible that action is being taken. Tried to break the syndicates.
Regarding reforms, BNP Secretary General said, 'This government has formed many commissions for reforms. We and the people have confidence in them. But we want to end it quickly and move towards the light through the election-centered reform system.
The more the election is delayed, the more controversy will arise, he said, "If it is delayed, the enemies of Bangladesh will organize."
Mirza Fakhrul said, 'We talked about 31-point reforms two years ago. Our Acting Chairman Tariq Rahman has already discussed this reform. So we definitely want reforms and that time should be within a reasonable period and not to feel that they will remain in power.'
