Jumbangla Desk: The convening committee of Rangpur district of anti-discrimination student movement has been formed. The 155-member committee was approved for the next six months in a circular signed by the coordinator and convener of anti-discrimination student movement Hasnat Abdullah and member secretary Arif Sohel on Sunday (24 November) night.

Imran Ahmed, a student of Carmichael College, was convened in the committee and Dr. Rangpur Medical College. Asfaq Ahmed Jamil has been made Member Secretary

Apart from this, Carmichael College student Rifat Hasan became the main organizer. And the spokesperson is Yasir Arafat of Rangpur City College.

Mahir Faisal Sourav of Rajshahi University, Rakibul Islam Taufiq of Carmichael College and 9 others have been convened as joint conveners of the committee. Joint Member Secretary Rummanul Islam Raj of Begum Rokeya University, Rakibul Islam Shishir of Maqbular Rahman Government College, Hamim Muntasir Ahan of Rangpur Technical College and 8 others.

University of Liberal Arts student Taufiq Ahmed Hriday and 7 others are on the post of organizers Apart from these posts, the committee has 122 members.


The anti-discrimination student movement started on July 1 demanding reform of quota in government jobs . This movement eventually turned into a popular uprising. The Awami League government fell on August 5 in that coup by the students. The anti-discrimination student movement formed a coordinating team of 65 members on July 8 to manage the movement. Later on August 3 it was increased to 158 members. On October 22, a press conference was held at the central Shaheed Minar and the four-member convening committee was announced, disbanding the coordinating team of the anti-discrimination student movement.
