Jumbangla Desk: A private car was the hobby of farmer Abdur Rauf (45). He will travel with his wife and children in that private car. But it is almost impossible for him to fulfill this hobby of buying cars as a farmer. So, using his own dreams and talent, he created a four-wheeled mini private car.

Abdur Rauf is a resident of Nehalpur village of Monirampur upazila in Jessore. He is a farmer by profession.

He was able to build the car at a cost of only two lakh rupees. Abdur Rauf's battery-powered car can run 60 km at a speed of 50 km with three passengers on an electric charge of just 30 taka. The car has two back seats, two front seats with driver, steering, brake, accelerator, headlight, horn, backlight etc. just like a private car.

Farmer Abdur Rauf said, "For a long time, my hobby was to buy a private car." Financial condition was not good so could not buy. I used to earn a living by farming, and save some money from daily income. There is no initiative to build a private car from the thought of fulfilling the hobby. But it is not fuel oil powered but a battery powered private car. With just three months of effort, I was able to build a complete mini private car nine months ago. Now I, my wife and two children travel around in my own private car.

Farmer Abdur Rauf said that he started making private cars by buying different parts little by little from different old and new pea parts shops in Jessore city. The chassis of the private car is made with iron angles and the body is made with plain seats. He could not modernize the car due to lack of capital. But if someone wants to take the car commercially, farmer Abdur Rauf can make such a private car at the cost of Tk 230,000.

Despite being a farmer by profession, he surprised the locals by making a car himself. Sometimes they also ride on floor cars. Dildar Hossain, a local resident said, I have been seeing Abdur Rauf's car running on the streets of our village for the past few months. The talent and efficiency of being a farmer has amazed us all. Sometimes I see this car riding with his wife and children.

Another resident named Monirul Islam said, Abdur Rauf is now a proud name of our village. His inventive genius has amazed us all. He saw many young people planning to build such cars. We ride Abdur Rauf's car at various times. Ride to Bhavdah area to eat ice cream. We love to ride in the car. Source: Dhaka Post
