Jumbangla Desk: The protesting students of various colleges have vandalized Suhrawardy College in the capital. Meanwhile, the ongoing honors first year year final examination in the college has been postponed.
Eyewitnesses said that around 2.30 pm on Sunday, the incident took place during a clash between the students of Suhrawardy and Kavi Nazrul Colleges who came to the National Medical College Gherawa.
Before this, at two o'clock in the afternoon, the clash between the two sides and the chase started. Later, when Kabi Nazrul and Suhrawardy College students retreated, students from the other side entered Suhrawardy College.
At that time the honors first year history examination was going on in the college. Students of Kabi Nazrul College were giving exams in this college. The examination, which started at 12:30 PM, was suspended after two hours for security reasons.
Mufti, a student of Kabi Nazrul College, said that after the exam was going on for an hour and a half, we heard the sound of vandalism. After two hours, at around 2:30, the teachers announced the suspension of the exam.
Meanwhile, as the agitating students entered the college, the examinees and students were blocked. During this time, vandalism was carried out in most of the rooms, including the room of the vice-principal of the college. A private car, microbus and ambulance, 2 motorcycles were vandalized in the college premises.
During this time, students are seen carrying various items including college trophies, chairs. Later, the students left the college premises on the request of teachers and staff. After that, the examinees in the college gradually left.
