Jumbangla Desk: Stating that there is no difference of opinion between BNP and the interim government in the current reform program, Tariq Rahman, acting chairman of the party, said that if the daily needs of the people cannot be met, the reforms will not be of any use.

He said these things while addressing the annual general meeting of Dhaka Journalists' Union (DUJ) at the Jatiya Press Club premises on Monday (November 25).

Tariq Rahman said, BNP thinks that free and fair elections should be organized within a reasonable period along with reforms. No government can stay in power without popular vote.

The Acting Chairman of BNP said that at least 6 journalists were martyred in the popular uprising of July and August against the dictatorship. At least more than 2,000 student mobs were killed on the orders of the fugitive dictator. About 400 activists of our organization were killed in this fight.

He said, Awami League and democracy are enemies of each other. Multi-faceted conspiracies have started at this moment to obstruct our ongoing democracy. The ousted evil forces will not be able to return to the politics of Bangladesh.
