Experts believe that the asteroid came from the Arjuna asteroid belt. The Arjuna asteroid belt is located 93 million miles from the Sun.

Asteroid 2024 PT5 was detected by NASA's Asteroid Detection System on August 7. If all goes well, the asteroid known as Earth's second moon will be seen again in 2055. Many astronomers believe that the asteroid was a fragment of the moon in ancient times.
