International Criminal Court (ICC) Chief Counsel Karim Khan arrived in Dhaka on Monday afternoon on a three-day visit. He went directly to Cox's Bazar from Dhaka at the beginning of his Bangladesh tour. This is Karim Khan's third visit to Bangladesh as ICC chief counsel.

Officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Karim Khan will talk to the Rohingyas during his stay in Cox's Bazar. The ICC has joined to ensure accountability of Myanmar troops from Rakhine after August 2017 for committing crimes against humanity by expelling Rohingyas. There is a requirement to sign the Witness Protection Protocol for this investigation. This issue is gaining importance in Karim Khan's visit this time.
Incidentally, ICC Chief Counsel Karim visited Bangladesh last year (2023) in July.
