President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey is ready to provide all assistance to stop the ongoing massacre in Gaza and establish a permanent ceasefire.

He said this at the parliamentary group meeting of Turkey's Justice and Development Party (AKP) on Wednesday.

More than 44,250 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks since the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack on Gaza. More than 104,746 people were injured. Most of them are women and children.

Speaking at the parliamentary group meeting of the AKP party, President Erdogan said, "We expect Israel, especially Israel, to fully fulfill their responsibilities to maintain peace in the region, including Palestine."

Türkiye has repeatedly emphasized international cooperation to end the ongoing violence in Gaza and improve the humanitarian situation. President Erdogan said Türkiye is willing to play an important role in diplomatic efforts to resolve the crisis.

The demands of the international community to monitor and take effective action on this situation are getting stronger.

Meanwhile, Erdogan also welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon that took effect on Wednesday morning. The ceasefire was brought about by the diplomatic efforts of the United States and France. Which is effective from 4 am local time.

In October 2023, Hezbollah continued to attack Israel with missiles, rockets and drones in solidarity with the Gazans and to demand the lifting of the blockade on Gaza.

After that, Israel began to carry out massive airstrikes in various parts of Lebanon and also started ground operations from October 1.

More than 3,823 Lebanese were killed and more than 15,859 civilians were injured in these operations in Lebanon. On the other hand, about 900 Israeli soldiers were killed. Source: Anadolu Agency
