A violent robbery took place at the house of industrialist Rezaul Karim Mala in Fatulla of Narayanganj. The incident took place in Gabtala area of Fatulla on Wednesday morning. Rezaul Karim is the owner of Dhaka Textiles in Shastapur area of Mala Fatulla.
A group of armed masked robbers entered the house by cutting the window grill. After that, the industrialist's son and the son's daughter-in-law were tied up, beaten and taken hostage at gunpoint, and looted seven lakh rupees and 40 bags of gold ornaments.
Rezaul Karim Mala, the owner of Dhaka Textile, said that 6 robbers entered the house by cutting the grill of the rear window of the two-story house in the early hours of the night. One of the robbers had a pistol in his hand and the others had a machete. Besides, the members of the bandit group were also standing outside the house. Everyone had cloths tied over their faces. The robbers first entered the room of the younger son Alauddin. Then they tied their hands and feet by threatening them with weapons. When they tried to shout, the robbers beat Alauddin and his wife. Then Alauddin's wife Nasreen looted 40 pieces of jewelery from Akhter's neck and fingers including gold ornaments and more gold ornaments from the cupboard. After that, the robbers went down to the ground floor of the house, broke the cupboard and looted seven lakh rupees in cash. After the robbers left, Alauddin and his wife Nasreen were taken to the city's Khanpur hospital for treatment.
