Own Correspondent, Gazipur: The accused Falan (57) who was sentenced to death in the murder case of Billal alias Bilu (45) of Kaliganj, Gazipur has been arrested by Thana police. On Wednesday (November 27) afternoon, he was arrested from Munshurpur (Tekpara) village of Kaliganj Municipal area .

The arrested is the son of deceased Taleb Ali of Bahardusadi village of Falan upazila. On the other hand, the victim of the murder is the son of Syed Ali alias Kitab of Ishwarpur village of Bahardusadi union of Billal upazila.
OC said that on December 7, 1995, labor leader Billal alias Bilu was killed in Ishwarpur market of Bahadursadi union of upazila. In that incident, the younger brother of the deceased. Jalal Uddin filed a case in Kaliganj police station as plaintiff. In 1997, the investigating officer filed a charge sheet against 13 people. After 23 years, the verdict of the murder case was decided on April 23, 2018. Judge of Gazipur Additional District and Sessions Judge Court-1. Fazle Elahi Bhuiyan gave this verdict. The court ordered that all 13 accused in the charge sheet should be hanged and fined Tk 10,000 each.
The OC also said that the accused Falan, who was sentenced to death in the murder case, was absconding for almost 6 and a half years after the verdict was announced. This afternoon the Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Kaliganj police station was arrested from Munshurpur (Tekpara) village of Kaliganj municipal area. The police officer also said that he will be sent to jail tomorrow (November 28) morning through the Gazipur court.
It is reported that on December 7, 1995, Bilud's housekeeper Zakaria Lau had an argument with some locals over allegations of theft. Later that afternoon in the incident, one of the accused in the case called Biluk from his home to Ishwarpur Bazar to talk about it. Later, when he got into an argument with him, the other accused killed Bilu by cutting and slaughtering him with sharp weapons.
