Dhaka University has been ranked at the top among universities in Bangladesh in the Asia University Ranking by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a UK-based education and research organization. QS published the list of the best universities in Asia on November 6. The list is released at the beginning of November every year. China's Peking University (Beijing) tops the list of the best 984 universities in Asia. The University of Hong Kong is second in the list.

The ranking is mainly based on 11 indicators. This takes into account the academic activities, the number of PhD holders and the number of international students.

QS annually publishes an annual ranking of the world's universities based on a number of criteria. The list is based on universities' research, innovation, graduate performance in employment, institutional success, faculty and student success, international research networks, research article citations, number of faculty and staff with PhD degrees, international faculty-student ratio, and international student exchange rates. .
