Several rumors have spread on social media regarding the arrest of Bangladesh Sammilita Sanatani Jagran Jot and principal of Pundarik Dham, Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, and the death of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif in an attack by protesters.

Fact check organization Rumor Scanner said in a report that at least eight fake photocards using media logos have been circulated in this issue. Notable among the rumors circulated in these photocards are — Chinmoy voluntarily surrendered, was involved with Shishu Balatkar and confessed to the DB police. Apart from this, rumors have been spread claiming Saiful Islam, the lawyer killed in the clash, as the lawyer of Chinmoy Krishna Das. The flow of these rumors was not limited to social media. Some Indian media and established media such as Reuters, Voice of America and Arab News have also found evidence that fake information has been circulated in this regard.

Rumor Scanner also says that during the court hearing about Chinmoy Krishna, a claim spread on social media. It is said there, in the interrogation of the DB, he confessed, if Sheikh Hasina can be brought back to the country, Chittagong will be given to us and 'I have no fault, I said what I was asked to say, I said it under compulsion.'

A search of individual photocards circulated with this claim revealed that the photocards were fake.

Lawyer Saiful Islam alias Alif (35) was killed in a clash after a court hearing. According to eyewitnesses, he was killed by the sharp weapons of the protesters. This incident created a strong reaction across the country and in the wake of this, various rumors started spreading on social media.

In this incident, there was a demand for loss of life among the Hindus in the clash on social media. Various posts cited different numbers of casualties. However, according to information received from reliable sources, no evidence of death was found in this clash except for lawyer Saiful Islam.

In the meantime, two screenshots of a Facebook post by a person named Probir Chandra Pal claiming the slain lawyer Saiful Islam as a victim of premeditated murder were spread. In a post, Probir wrote, All traditional advocates have decided to give a hearing today! Otherwise, the session judge. Saiful will not let Islam out of the court.

However, the Saiful Islam mentioned here and the deceased lawyer Saiful Islam are different persons. Saiful Islam mentioned in the post is Chittagong Metropolitan Sessions Judge, and deceased Saiful Islam is Assistant Public Prosecutor of Chittagong Court.

West Bengal BJP leader Shuvendu Adhikari shared a video on X on the unpleasant situation created by the bail issue of Chinmoy and accused Hindu torture in Bangladesh. However, the video is a scene of a clash between students of three colleges in Dhaka. It is not related to any incidents of Hindu persecution.

Chinmoy Krishna, a prominent member of the LGBTQ community, claimed that a photocard with the logo of Time TV was circulated on social media in the Indian media Republic of Bengal. However, the verification showed that Republic Bangla did not publish any such information and Time TV also did not broadcast any such photocard.
