The incident took place in the prison cell of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on Saturday afternoon.

It is reported that Asaduzzaman Noor and Tanveer Imam, who are undergoing treatment in the prison cell of BSMMU, went for therapy. At that time, the injured students under treatment in the hospital became angry after seeing them. Immediately some students went and started killing and punching them. At this time, the students started shouting that they are terrorists-student killers.

Later, the members of law and order forces present brought the situation under control.

Director of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Brigadier General Md. Rezaur Rahman confirmed this information to Yugantar.

He said Tanveer Imam, son of Asaduzzaman Noor and HT Imam and the injured students are also undergoing treatment in the same hospital. At the same time the two of them and the injured students came for therapy. Seeing each other at the same place at the same time led to an emotional outburst. Later, the police and medical officers on duty brought the situation under control.

He said, the incident happened suddenly. However, we are working to prevent such incidents from happening again.
