North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said Ukraine is using long-range weapons as a result of direct military intervention by the United States in the Ukraine war. Moscow has the right to fight in self-defense using these weapons. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un made this comment in a meeting with Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov.

North Korea's state news agency KCNA reported that Kim Jong Un met with Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov on Friday. At the meeting, he said, the United States and the West have forced the Kiev authorities to attack Russian territory with their own long-range weapons. Now Moscow should take steps to make the enemy pay.

KCNA quoted Kim as saying that the government, army and people of North Korea will always support the policy of the Russian Federation to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity from imperialist moves to expand its hegemony.

The North Korean leader has pledged to expand ties with Russia in all areas, including military, under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement that Kim Jong Un signed in a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin last June. A mutual defense agreement was signed between the two countries at that time.

Relations between Moscow and Pyongyang have improved dramatically since the summit of the two countries' leaders in Russia in September last year. According to South Korea's intelligence agency, after the meeting, North Korea sent more than 10,000 ammunition containers as well as self-propelled howitzers and multiple rocket launchers to Russia.

Western countries have accused North Korea of sending 10,000 troops to Moscow to fight on Russia's side in the recent Ukraine war. KCNA did not provide any information on whether there was any discussion between Kim and Belousov about sending North Korean troops to Russia.

South Korea's intelligence agency says that North Korea has deployed more than 10,000 troops in Russia. These troops are currently deployed on the Russian war front. They joined the fleet of Russian troops fighting in the Kursk region; From where Russia is trying to expel Ukrainian troops.

Ukraine launched its first attack inside Russia this month using ATACMS, a long-range missile supplied by the country, after being approved by the administration led by US President Joe Biden.

Later, Russia attacked Ukraine's military and energy infrastructure. Moscow claimed that the attack was in response to the use of medium-range missiles provided by the United States.

Russian Defense Minister Belosov held a separate meeting with North Korean Defense Minister No Kwang Chol. He said the partnership agreement signed by Kim and Putin will contribute to maintaining the balance of power in Northeast Asia.
