At the end of the sermon, Mufti Mahbubur Rahman, the president of the Khilafat Majlis of Tishri Union of Madan Upazila, died. Mahbubur Rahman's elder brother Abdul Mannan confirmed the death. Mahabubur Rahman is the son of Mohiuddin Munsi of Sridharpur village of Tiyashree union of upazila.

Abdul Mannan, the brother of deceased Mahbubur Rahman, said that Mahbubur Rahman was the khatib of a mosque and the muthaim of a madrasa in Madhabadi upazila of Narsingdi district. Mahbub recites the sermon after the Islamic discussion before the Friday prayer like every Friday. At the end of the sermon, Muslims are asked to perform the Sunnah prayer. At one point, Mahbubu fainted. After praying, the Muslims first took Madhavadi to the hospital. The working doctor referred him to Dhaka as he was serious. Mahbubur died at 9 pm after being admitted to Shyamoli Neuroscience Hospital in Dhaka.

The doctor said that Mahbubur Rahman suffered a brain stroke. His death cast a shadow of mourning among his workplace, village home and classmates.
