Earlier, Taslima sent a message to Union Home Minister Amit Shah on social media and microblogging site X on Monday.

In the message he said, Dear Amit Shahji Namaskar. I am living in India because I love this great country. This country has been my second home for the past 20 years. But since July 22, the Ministry of Home Affairs has not extended my residence visa. I am very worried. If you allow me to stay in this country, I will be sincerely grateful.

Following this post by X Taslima, Taslima Nasreen posted an X message on Tuesday thanking Amit Shah and the Central Government of India after the Ministry of Home Affairs of India took necessary steps to extend her visa and informed her about this. In that post, he said, Many, many thanks.
