If not, the leaders of the party are thinking of starting a program to demand elections around March-April. Related responsible sources said that in the BNP Standing Committee meeting, several members questioned the statements and activities of some advisors of the interim government regarding the election. Some also expressed doubts about the activities of some.
During the meeting, a senior leader of BNP said in this regard, without making a direct demand for the election at this moment, we can say that it is possible to hold the election in March or April. Not only that; I can put forward the appropriate argument before the nation about the process by which it is possible. Based on the opinion of this leader, when will the roadmap for the election of other leaders? He proposed to hold a press conference detailing the process by which the announcement should be made. The main leader of the meeting, Tariq Rahman, agreed to this.
Meanwhile, a member of the standing committee, who did not wish to be named, told the media that the statements of the advisors of the interim government, the government's long-winded statements on state reform, and the various activities of the government are showing disinterest in elections. Doubts about the government's aims and objectives are intensifying.
The source said that the meeting also discussed the proposal of names for the search committee for the formation of the Election Commission. Political parties have to propose names to the search committee by tomorrow. BNP will decide the names of four people today.
